1st mobility: Balkan Heritage Foundation, Bulgaria

In collaboration with the Balkan Heritage Foundation in Bulgaria, Dr Nikolas Sarris (book & paper conservator at the NLG) visited the National Library ‘Ivan Vazov’ of Plovdiv from 20 to 24 March 2023.

The main purpose of the mobility was to provide training and presentation of techniques for the documentation and preservation of historical bookbinding collections in order to ensure their longevity and accessibility to a wider reading audience.
